AMAZING CHILDREN WHO
HAVE BEEN THROUGH A TRAGEDY TO CAMP.
THIS CAMP IS SET UP FOR CHILDREN
TO MEET OTHER CHILDREN FROM
DIFFERENT AREAS THAT HAVE EXPERIENCED THE
DAILY CHALLENGES THAT THEY ALL FACE!
Each summer, Baton Rouge General sends local pediatric burn survivors to the “I’m Still Me” Summer Burn Camp in Scottsville, TX, to aid in their rehabilitation and provide an opportunity to interact with other children. During the week-long camp, participants enjoy swimming, fishing, arts and crafts, and many other fun activities.
The camp is voluntarily staffed by doctors, nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, teachers, social workers, firefighters, parents of young burn survivors, and adult burn survivors. Campers enjoy air-conditioned cabins, a pavilion, dining hall, playground, a swimming pool and much more. The camp accepts children ages 5 to 17.
